Question & Response
New Sunday Gathering Services Times
We believe God is inviting Evergreen into a deeper and more intentional life with Him and with one another. Our focus for 2026 is “Deeper” — creating more space for prayer, spiritual formation, worship response, reflection, and multi-generational connection on Sunday mornings.
Moving from three gatherings to two allows us to slow down and focus our energy and resources toward creating more intentional Sunday environments.
Beginning August 23, 2026, Evergreen will move from three Sunday gatherings to two gatherings at:
9:00am
11:00am
As part of this transition, we are inviting the Sunday Classic Community to permanently join one of these two gatherings.
The final Classic Gathering is planned for Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Note: We will have three consecutive Sundays with one 10:00am Family Service on August 2, 9, and 16 before making the change to our permanent two Sunday gatherings at 9:00am and 11:00am beginning August 23, 2026.
This is not about removing a community.
This is about bringing generations together into a deeper shared life as one church family.
The Classic Community has faithfully shaped Evergreen for many years through worship, prayer, generosity, friendship, and service. Their presence, wisdom, and faithfulness matter deeply to our church.
Our hope is that all members of the Classic Community chose to gather at one of the other two services and experience rich multi-generational worship and fellowship.
We know this is an important question for many. For some the most important factor.
Here is what we want you to know. We are not as loud as we were pre-pandemic, though we still intend to use a full band in our gatherings. We also understand that “loud” can feel relative depending on the member and their comfort level.
Another factor to consider is that sound can be experienced very differently in different parts of our auditorium. That being the case, we can help identify which seating location and/or arrangement can be a better experience for you or a loved one.
Our encouragement is to come experience a gathering for yourself and let us know how it feels. There may even be creative solutions we haven’t thought of yet, and your feedback helps us continue learning and adapting as a church family.
So when it comes to the question of loudness, know this: we hear you. (Pun intended.)
Our hope is to create gatherings that feel more intentional, reflective, and presence-driven. While worship will still be joyful and Spirit-led, we are also intentionally creating more space for quieter moments, prayer, and reflection.
Moving from three gatherings to two allows for:
Greater focus on intentional spiritual formation
More margin for prayer, reflection, and responding
Healthier rhythms for volunteers and staff
Quite simply: 2 is slower than 3. And we believe slowing down matters in this season.
For us, deeper means:
More intentional life with God and each other.
Practically, this looks like:
More prayer
More reflection
More intentional discipleship
More relational connection
More opportunities to respond to God together
Absolutely.
We hope this transition actually strengthens community across generations.
We also hope to encourage meaningful connection experience for Classic members such as:
Fresh volunteer opportunities
Fresh discipleship opportunities
Meaningful prayer gatherings
Continued breakfast gatherings
We want people to remain connected relationally, not just attend a service.
Your faithfulness, wisdom, hospitality, and steadiness are deeply valuable to Evergreen’s future.
There will continue to be opportunities to serve through:
Prayer ministry
Hospitality team
Welcome team
eKids and Youth Team
Event preparation
Mentoring and discipleship
Here, near, and far missions
We believe one of the greatest gifts of a multi-generational church is generations serving and worshiping side by side.
We completely understand.
Change involving meaningful traditions and relationships often brings grief, questions, and adjustment. We want to walk through this slowly, relationally, and pastorally.
That’s why:
We are hosting a Classic Community Q&R gathering on June 14th.
We plan to celebrate the Classic gathering with gratitude and honor on July 26.
We plan to host a Classic Community Q&R Gathering during the service on Sunday, June 14, 2026 where we will:
Share more vision
Answer questions
Talk honestly about the transition
Pray and take communion together
Our hope is that the final Classic Gathering on July 26, 2026 will be a meaningful celebration filled with:
Gratitude
Stories
Food
Photos
Celebrating all God has done through this community
Our hope is not simply to change service times.
Our hope is to become a more deeply formed church family together — one where kids, youth, parents, grandparents, and every generation encounter Jesus side by side.
We believe the future of Evergreen is not fewer generations together. It’s more generations together.
